Anchors away
Alaska is the land of extremes and the Anchorage gay scene is no exception. With most of the gay community located on the north side of downtown, you'll find the locals friendly and ready to party. Anchorage, like many small cities, is home to a diverse population that includes many gays and lesbians. And, since there aren't that many people in the whole state, all the queers tend to stick together. So you might walk into a bar and find drag queens, lesbians, and bears all partying together, and keeping warm through those long Alaskan winter nights.
